Stepwells, blue lanes and a quiet alternative to the big cities
Bundi has the architecture of the larger Rajasthan cities with a fraction of the visitors. The Chitrashala murals inside Bundi Palace are among the finest surviving examples of Rajput painting, and Raniji ki Baori is one of India's most elaborate stepwells.
It pairs naturally with Ranthambore or Chittorgarh for travellers building a slower, less-crowded route.
