Seat count is not the same as capacity

A 17-seat tempo traveller with all seats installed has very little luggage room. The same body configured with 12 seats has a proper rear luggage compartment and noticeably more legroom.

For a Rajasthan circuit where everyone travels with a suitcase, we usually recommend a vehicle rated for at least three seats more than your headcount.

Standard versus luxury

• Standard: push-back seats, air conditioning, good for city sightseeing and shorter transfers.
• Luxury: fewer, wider reclining seats, better interiors and more luggage space — worth it when the itinerary has several five-hour-plus driving days.

When a bus makes more sense

Beyond about 17 passengers, two tempo travellers cost more than one AC bus and complicate the day: two drivers, two parking spots, two arrival times. A bus is usually the better answer for weddings, corporate groups and student trips.

The exception is itineraries with narrow access — some heritage venues and old-city routes cannot take a full-size coach, and smaller vehicles are needed for the last stretch.

How multi-day hire is quoted

Local use within Jaipur is normally quoted as a package of hours and kilometres. Outstation and multi-day trips are quoted per day, with the driver allowance and night halt included in the quotation and tolls, parking and state permits stated separately.
